2015 Winter-Spring Recreation Classes
Choose from a host of recreational classes designed to keep you fit, active and inspired. Whether you want to study the ancient martial art of karate, learn a few vibrant dance moves, or achieve a balanced body and mind with meditation or yoga, the Club has the perfect program for you.

- Cancellations are accepted by 9 pm the day before the class is scheduled to begin

Adult Tennis

Learn to play tennis at the Club with this seven-week program with fun highly instructive classes for beginners and advanced beginners. Taught by United States Professional Tennis Association-certified coach Allen Krissman, this beginner and refresher program teaches the rudiments of the sport in a stress-free environment. Aikido

Aikido is a unique Japanese martial art with no competitions. Students have partners not opponents and the emphasis is not to defeat others but to work together so both can improve. Aikido is great for flexibility, coordination and physical fitness and is an enjoyable, rewarding way to learn self defense. For over 20 years Pacific Aikido has been teaching these fun classes at a pace suited to each student. If you have ever thought about trying a Japanese martial art this is a good choice. Click here for more information.

Capoeira

Students will learn the fundamentals of capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines martial-art moves with dance, acrobatics and music. Besides sweating and staying in shape, students learn about Brazilian dance rhythms, songs and musical instruments, which all originated from Africa. Click here for more information.

Core Conditioning

This class for all levels targets strength, balance and stabilization of the core area (pelvis, lumber, thoracic and cervical spine). Exercises are designed to improve posture, prevent lower-back problems, strengthen hips and flatten abs. Click here for more information.

Imi Krav Maga Self-Defense

A simple form of hand-to-hand combat developed by Hungarian Jew Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1930s, krav maga is used by military units and law enforcement agencies around the world. Social Dance (Trial)

You've seen the hit US TV show "Dancing with the Stars," now try it for yourself.
This fun, energizing trial dance class, led by certified dance instructor Ronny Harris, offers a chance to stay in shape while making new friends and learning how to glide across the floor.
Students are welcome to attend any class but should sign up at least one day before the class.
