2014 Fall Recreation Classes
Choose from a host of recreational classes designed to keep you fit, active and inspired. Whether you want to study the ancient martial art of karate, learn a few vibrant dance moves, or achieve a balanced body and mind with meditation or yoga, the Club has the perfect program for you.

- Cancellations are accepted by 9 pm the day before the class is scheduled to begin

Adult Tennis

Learn to play tennis at the Club with this seven-week program with fun highly instructive classes for beginners and advanced beginners. Taught by United States Professional Tennis Association-certified coach Allen Krissman, this beginner and refresher program teaches the rudiments of the sport in a stress-free environment. Aikido

Aikido is a unique Japanese martial art with no competitions. Students have partners not opponents and the emphasis is not to defeat others but to work together so both can improve. Aikido is great for flexibility, coordination and physical fitness and is an enjoyable, rewarding way to learn self defense. For over 20 years Pacific Aikido has been teaching these fun classes at a pace suited to each student. If you have ever thought about trying a Japanese martial art this is a good choice. Click here for more information.

Boot Camp

Students will learn a variety of exercises involving calisthenics, plyometrics, free weights, medicine balls, and body weight to give them a total body workout in this one hour class. Capoiera

Students will learn the fundamentals of capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines martial-art moves with dance, acrobatics and music. Besides sweating and staying in shape, students learn about Brazilian dance rhythms, songs and musical instruments, which all originated from Africa. Click here for more information.

Core Conditioning

This class for all levels targets strength, balance and stabilization of the core area (pelvis, lumber, thoracic and cervical spine). Exercises are designed to improve posture, prevent lower-back problems, strengthen hips and flatten abs. Click here for more information.

Karate

Our instructor can personalize the settings on your Revmaster stationary bike to help you achieve your fi tness goals.

Never boring, the class matches upbeat music with enjoyable, yet challenging drills. Look good in any outfi t as indoor cycling targets the core muscles, buttocks and thighs for a firmer figure.

Spin & Sculpt

This class integrates two high-energy, lively exercises to blast calories and increase endurance while keeping students engaged and entertained. Get a full body workout in this cycling class which incorporates spinning with full body toning exercises all choreographed
