webdv_tintinTintin
He Says: This is an adorable, gripping and somewhat nostalgic (for older viewers) computer-animated movie for both kids and adults. Action-packed and well paced, the film’s main characters, Tintin (Jamie Bell), his pet dog, Snowy, and Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis), draw you into the adventure and leave you wanting more. ♦♦♦

She Says: Steven Spielberg (director) and Peter Jackson (producer) have created a great family-oriented adventure in which Tintin and Captain Haddock race to find the treasure of a sunken ship before the evil Red Rackham gets his hands on it. The state-of-art, motion-capture animation is amazing. ♦♦♦

webdvd_contagionContagion
He Says: The realistic, documentary-like approach to this movie makes it quite depressing and much less entertaining than 1995’s Outbreak. Although director Steven Soderbergh assembled a first-class cast (some of whom appear only briefly), the story of a fast-spreading world pandemic falls short as a Hollywood film. ♦♦

She Says:
This Steven Soderbergh film is about an international team of doctors that is trying to contain a deadly virus and the associated public panic. Although the story is simple and the cast exceptional, this movie has something missing—I’m just not sure what. ♦♦

webdvd_50_50 50/50
He Says: The balance of serious and light-hearted elements in this movie about a man’s battle with cancer makes it easier to watch. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Adam) and Seth Rogen (Kyle) produce fine performances that deal well with the related emotions and ultimately make this a convincing film. ♦♦♦

She Says: Inspired by a true story, this film is about how the lives of two best friends (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen) are changed when one of them is diagnosed with cancer. While the subject matter might be dark and depressing, it is handled with a clever injection of comedy. ♦♦♦

webdvd_the immortalsImmortals
He Says: If, like me, you’re a fan of 300, you’ll be disappointed with Immortals. A weak story is made worse by the poorly developed characters. The only redeeming factor is the fight sequences, although some of those are mediocre and reminiscent of other similar movies. ♦

She Says: A fast-paced, well-made film about a man (Henry Cavill) who is chosen by Zeus to destroy the ruthless, power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). Reminiscent of 300, it is packed with battles and gore. I might have enjoyed it more if I knew more about Greek mythology. ♦♦
